Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK is hiring a Night Shift, full-time Med Surg/Ortho Patient Care Tech (PCT). You will work under moderate supervision to support patient care tasks and daily activities, while collaborating with registered nurses and the care team in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes accurate vital signs, specimen collection, patient transport, and timely documentation. A high school diploma or GED and BLS are required, with phlebotomy skills preferred to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Two years of experience in acute or long-term care preferred.
• Preferred: phlebotomy proficiency.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or current nursing student status.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observe patients’ progress and relay reports to RN or healthcare team.
• Obtain and record vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties as needed.
• Measure intake/output, assist with ROM, and draw blood when required.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Work under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform duties.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
