Job summary

Ardent Health Services seeks a Night Shift Med Surg Ortho Patient Care Tech (PCT) in Tulsa, OK to join our team at Hillcrest Hospital South. You will assist patients with daily living activities, monitor vitals, draw blood, and support nursing staff under moderate supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification within 14 days of hire. Preferred candidates may have CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification and 2 years of acute or long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform duties.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
