Job summary

Hillcrest Medical Center is seeking a Day shift PRN Patient Care Tech (PCT) in Tulsa, OK. You will perform CNA duties and clerical tasks under RN oversight to support patient care and unit operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a BLS certificate, with CNA/PCT certification or nursing school enrollment preferred. Prior acute or long-term care experience and phlebotomy skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Two years of experience in acute or long-term care desired.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Perform CNA duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager.
• Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assist in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answers inquiries within the scope of practice.
• Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, gives initial instruction; assist in transporting discharged patients and answer inquiries within the scope of practice.
• May act as the unit’s receptionist, assign patient to room on board, alert nursing staff to patient arrival, pull and prepare chart; order and monitor utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and retrieval chart back; assist with stocking supplies that are needed in the unit as well as assist in keeping the nursing stations clean and organized
