Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK is seeking a day shift, full-time Patient Care Technician (PCT). You will perform CNA duties and clerical tasks under the guidance of an RN and unit manager, assisting with vital signs, transportation, meals, hygiene, and patient inquiries.

The role involves patient reception, room assignment, chart preparation, and stock management within the unit. A supportive, team-oriented environment with opportunities for growth and tuition assistance is highlighted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• CNA, PCT or paramedic certification preferred or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Two years of experience in acute or long-term care preferred.
• Phlebotomy proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CNA duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager.
• Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assist in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answer inquiries within scope of practice.
• Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, give initial instruction; assist in transporting discharged patients and answer inquiries within scope of practice.
• May act as the unit's receptionist, assign patient to room on board, alert nursing staff to patient arrival, pull and prepare chart; order and monitor utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and chart retrieval; assist with stocking supplies in the unit and keep nursing stations clean and organized.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.


• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.


• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.


• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
