Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast in Destin, Florida is seeking staff for the Stepdown Intermediate Care unit. The role involves nights, full-time scheduling, and direct patient care under nursing staff supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily care, monitoring patient status, documenting vital signs and care activities, and maintaining clean, safe patient rooms and equipment.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire date.
• High School diploma or equivalent OR 1 year of applicable experience.
• Professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Help patients with daily personal care (bathing, dressing, feeding) and safe movement, transfers, and repositioning.
• Monitor patients for any physical, mental, or emotional changes and immediately report findings to the nursing staff.
• Accurately record patient vital signs, intake/output, and completed care activities in their medical records.
• Keep patient rooms clean, safe, and orderly, while maintaining and sanitizing basic medical equipment.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
