Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patients under RN/LPN guidance. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patients, and help maintain high standards of care and safety.

The role involves vital signs, specimen collection if certified, and collaboration with the healthcare team to meet patient needs and family education. BLS certification and related training are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting and mobility.
• Maintains standard precautions and safe patient practices.
• Performs vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning and Foley care as directed; phlebotomy/EKGs if certified.
• Communicates patient changes to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety.
