Job summary

MelroseWakefield Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the 38-bed Medical 4 unit. You will provide professional and nonprofessional nursing support under physician orders, including basic care, vitals, mobility, and documentation.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience, and BLS certification. You will work nights and weekends as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent.
• CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care for patients including personal hygiene, elimination, vital signs, and mobility.
• Reinforces belongings policy with patients and families and documents accordingly.
• Provides nutritional support and assists with feeding; documents intake/output and weight.
• Performs selected therapeutic procedures as competency allows.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to achieve unit objectives and maintain good relations.
• Sets up equipment for treatments, dressings, tests, etc., as assigned.
• Performs 12-lead EKG and promptly routes results to nurse or physician.

Education
