Job summary

MelroseWakefield Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician to provide professional and basic nursing support under physician orders. The role includes direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, EKG, and helping with daily activities as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS certification; CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience is preferred. Night and weekend shifts are available, with a 36-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including personal hygiene, elimination, and mobility activities.
• Documents I&O and patient information according to procedure.
• Assists with meals and nutritional support as needed.
• Sets up equipment for treatments and assists physicians/clinicians as assigned.
• Records EKGs and promptly shares results with the supervising nurse or physician.
• Cares for diverse patient groups including medical, wound care, and surgical patients.
• Works with the healthcare team to meet departmental objectives and maintain good relations.
