Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The role supports care for the region’s only Level III NICU, with a team of specialists providing round-the-clock care to newborns.

Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Our Davis Neonatal Intensive Care unit at Baystate Children's Hospital is the region's only Level III NICU.

We have a team of neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, residents, pediatric subspecialists, respiratory therapists, and neonatal nutritionists here to care for our littlest patients, 24 hours a day.

Continuing Care Nursery part of NICU- infants go there to be monitored after they graduate NICU.

The Patient Care Technician role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while gaining hands‑on clinical experience and building a strong foundation for career growth in healthcare while working alongside a collaborative care team dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.

The Patient Care Technician Will:

• Provided safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, elimination, and personal care while promoting patient dignity and safety.
• Monitored and accurately documented vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other physiological parameters; promptly reported significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assisted with treatments, procedures, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Provided one-to-one patient observation as needed, recognized changes in patient condition or safety concerns, and responded appropriately to emergency situations.
• Collaborated effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and patient-centered care.
