Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The role supports care for the region’s only Level III NICU, with a team of specialists providing round-the-clock care to newborns.

You will work closely with nurses and physicians, performing age-appropriate patient care, monitoring, documentation, and participation in treatments, while developing hands-on clinical skills and career growth in a

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• BLS CPR certification is required.
• At least one year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, age-appropriate patient care and activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs, weight, intake/output and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with treatments, dressing changes, specimen collection, and tests.
• Provide one-to-one observation and respond to emergencies.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and the care team with proper documentation.
