Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our MassMutual 5 Heart & Vascular Interventional at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts . The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit is part of the Cardiac Interventional Unit. The Cardiac Interventional unit is a 33-bed unit consisting of 12 Progressive Care Unit beds and 21 Acute Care beds. This unit treats interventional cardiology patients with cases such as post-cardiac catheters, post-cardiac ablation, post-pacemakers, and patients coming from the EP lab. This unit features a great, cohesive team with staff willing to help each other out.

We can unblock your artery up to 25 minutes sooner than the national standard. In fact, Baystate is in the top 10% of hospitals nationwide when it comes to this life‑saving treatment.

Baystate Medical Center is the only hospital in our area that can stop a heart attack instantly by unblocking an artery. And we can do this procedure 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Patient Care Technician Will:

• Provided safe, age‑appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, elimination, and personal care while promoting patient dignity and safety.
• Monitored and accurately documented vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other physiological parameters; promptly reported significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assisted with treatments, procedures, dressing changes, specimen collection, point‑of‑care testing, and physician examinations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Provided one‑to‑one patient observation as needed, recognized changes in patient condition or safety concerns, and responded appropriately to emergency situations.
• Collaborated effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and patient‑centered care.
