Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Patient Care Technician I/II to support nursing staff in providing compassionate patient care in a high-demand environment. You will communicate observations to the RN, monitor high-risk patients, and help with daily living activities and safety measures.

Role requires high school education, BLS certification within 30 days, and strong English communication. This non-exempt role follows a day shift and may include a signing bonus eligibility discussed during

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30-days as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes in patients.
• Provide constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
• Participate in maintaining a safe environment and de-escalate as needed, using restraints when required per training.
• Assist patients with daily living activities such as hygiene, ambulation, meals and nourishment.
• Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques.
