Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician II to join the night shift. You will provide patient care under supervision, monitor patient status, and assist with daily living activities. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and effective communication with the nursing staff.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, current BLS, and strong English skills. Responsibilities include phlebotomy in some locations, EKGs, and supporting various unit procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum: high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Medical terminology and basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under licensed clinician supervision and maintain safety.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes to RN.
• Assist in mobility, hygiene, nutrition, and daily living activities.
• Support procedures and prepare equipment, ensuring sterile technique when indicated.
