Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will perform basic nursing procedures for patients in stable condition and assist with admissions, discharges and transfers.

Responsibilities include documenting in the electronic medical record, participating in safety and patient satisfaction initiatives, and maintaining a clean, respectful patient environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic mathematics and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities (ADLs, vital signs, mobility, intake/output).
• Assists RN with care of acutely ill patients and standard procedures.
• Documents in the electronic medical record and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintains patient/family environment and supports safety and compliance.
