Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and assist the RN in caring for patients in stable condition. You will document care, monitor vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and help maintain a safe, clean unit under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Limited or no experience; 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities (ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, specimens, intake/output, etc.).
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives (bedside shift report, hourly rounding, safety practices).
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, restraints, specimens and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
