Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I in Central Massachusetts. This non-exempt role supports the RN, delivers direct patient care, and helps ensure patient safety on a 7:00-3:30 schedule with a 32-hour week. You will perform vital signs, basic nursing tasks, and assist with activities of daily living.

The position involves EKGs, Point of Care tests, bladder scanning, and specimen transport. A signing bonus may be available; interview confirms eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Maintains constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse.
• Assists in maintaining a safe environment and supports de-escalation and restraints as directed.
• Assists patients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
• Performs patient safety checks and records vital signs, weights and heights, and assists with treatments.
