Job summary

Highmark Health in Pittsburgh is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, document care, and support care transitions on the inpatient unit.

The role emphasizes patient dignity, safety, and adherence to HIPAA policies. Preferred candidates have a High School diploma/GED, are enrolled in ASN/BSN or have recent acute care exposure, and are ready for two weeks of training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care activities (ADLs, vitals, ambulation, meals, I&O, etc.).
• Participate in quality initiatives and bedside rounding to promote safety and cleanliness.
• Document vital signs, I&O, treatments; report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
