Highmark Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and support to the RN in a hospital unit in Pittsburgh. The role includes performing basic nursing procedures for stable patients, monitoring vitals, and assisting with admissions, discharges, and transfers.

The incumbent will maintain patient safety, document care in the electronic medical record, and participate in unit activities. Training is provided, with expectations to adhere to HIPAA and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Limited or no experience: Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred Acute care experience in the last 3 years.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program and clinical rotation experience.

Responsabilités

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities (ADLs, vitals, mobility, specimen collection, I&O).
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives (bedside reports, hourly rounding, safety, isolation protocols).
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Performs unit activities like stocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
