UPMC is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to support patient care in a day-shift, full-time role. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, monitoring vitals, phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic therapies under RN supervision.

Candidates must communicate effectively with the health care team, maintain accurate records, and participate in unit safety and quality initiatives. The role requires teamwork and a focus on compassionate patient care within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Experience providing ADL support and patient care.
• Ability to perform vitals, I&O, specimen collection and Foley care.
• Competence with phlebotomy, EKGs and basic patient monitoring.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with RN and health care staff.

Responsabilités

• Assist with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Assist with physical, respiratory and cardiopulmonary therapies.
• Document in medical records per procedures.
• Report changes in patient status to RN.
• Support safety policies and unit operations.
• Provide patient and family instruction under RN direction.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
• Participate in department quality initiatives.
