Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver direct patient care, assist with activities of daily living, monitor patients, and support the nursing team across the unit. You’ll perform UPMC core CNA/PCT tasks, document care, and help ensure safety and comfort for patients.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR within 30 days of hire, and licensure/clearance per hospital policy; EMT or Paramedic training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CPR within 30 days of hire.
• EMT/Paramedic training preferred and may be a plus.
• Experience with basic clinical tasks is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living.
• Performs core CNA/PCT tasks and at least four additional identified tasks.
• Documents in the medical record and communicates with health care team.
