UPMC Mercy Health Center is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician Specialist to support nurses and clinicians in a patient-centered environment in Pittsburgh. The role emphasizes phlebotomy, IV skills, vital signs, and ADL assistance with a Monday–Friday schedule and no weekends or on-call shifts.

The technician will gain competency in at least one advanced skill (e.g., basic arrhythmia, complex wound care, 12-lead EKG, NG tube care) as department needs dictate, while maintaining telemetry

Formación

• Phlebotomy and IV skills are preferred.
• Ability to monitor vital signs and handle point-of-care testing.
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic patient care tasks.
• Demonstrate compassionate, patient-centered care and professionalism.

Responsabilidades

• Provides compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting nurses and clinicians.
• Assists with bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, and positioning.
• Obtains vital signs, weights, intake/output, and collects patient specimens.
• Applies telemetry monitors and supports HAC/PSI prevention measures.
• Performs basic dressing changes, catheter care, and specimen collection.
• Carries out advanced competencies including IV procedures, Foley care, and phlebotomy.
• Documents care in medical records and communicates with RN and leadership.
