Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. Francis Eastside to provide basic patient care under RN supervision.

The role includes assisting with essential daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining patient comfort while supporting care teams. The ideal candidate has recent acute care exposure, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-changing environment.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility (preferred)
• BLS or willingness to obtain certification prior to direct patient care
• Ability to monitor vital signs, assist with activities of daily living and mobility

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes/concerns
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff
• Documents accurately and timely in the patient record
• Participates in hand-off reports and transfer of care
• Assists with mobility and safe transfers
• Encourages patient independence and individualizes care to patient interests
