Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit at St. Francis Downtown. The role provides essential patient care under RN guidance, including hygiene, vital signs, and mobility support, while documenting care accurately.

Experience in acute care or related settings is preferred, with required BLS and nursing aide credentials or equivalent. A positive, compassionate approach is expected.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support is required or must be obtained prior to direct patient care.
• Successful completion of a nursing aide training program OR valid Nursing Assistant credential OR 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, and hygiene.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and promptly in the chart/EHR.
• Participates in hand-off communications at shift changes and as needed.
