Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System seeks a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing units with patient transport, basic care, and room preparation. You will assist with vital signs, intake/output, and routine tasks under supervision of licensed staff, across adolescent to geriatric patients.

This role emphasizes flexibility, teamwork, and accurate documentation in IT systems, with training provided through NGHS pathways. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher transcript showing completion of at least the sophomore level.
• CCHT certification required for dialysis unit.
• No prior nursing experience required; PCT Academy training available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient data (vital signs, weight, urine/stool characteristics).
• Support patient care under supervision of licensed staff and assist with patient transport.
• Maintain proper body mechanics and positioning; ensure patient comfort and ADL support.
• Document patient information accurately and timely in IT systems.
• Respond to patient calls and relay requests to licensed staff; assist with room preparation and supplies.
