Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a non-licensed patient care technician to support nursing units, transport patients, stock rooms, and assist with basic patient care under the supervision of the shift primary nurse. The role serves adolescents, adults, and geriatrics and aligns with National Patient Safety Goals.

Responsibilities include vital signs, patient mobility, and safe, compassionate care with adherence to NGHS policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or transcript showing at least sophomore year.
• CCHT certification (dialysis unit only) required or preferred.
• No prior experience required; PCT Academy training may be provided for RN students or CNA holders.
• Bi-lingual basic language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient vitals and data.
• Assist with patient transport, room cleanliness, and basic nursing tasks.
• Stock patient rooms and unit areas; ensure supplies are available.
• Provide direct patient care under supervision of the shift nurse.
• Adhere to patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control policies.
• Record patient data accurately in IT systems and communicate with staff.
