Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• STNA certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification required (will be obtained during hospital orientation).
• Maintains compliance in RQI requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs hourly rounding.
• Clerical tasks including maintaining chart order, answering telephones, and entering physician orders in Meditech.
• Coordinates patient flow with the charge nurse to maintain inter-department communication.
• Assists with patient care and non-patient care within scope of practice as assigned by RN/LPN and documents in Meditech.
• Assists with patient/family teaching as appropriate.
• Maintains supplies and equipment and enters daily outpatient and observation room charges.
• Complies with safety and infection control standards related to position.
• Uses effective interpersonal communication to foster teamwork and positive patient experience.
