Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support our care teams across units under RN/LPN supervision. This role involves direct patient care, vital signs, records, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with CNA/CPCT enrollment preferred, and BLS within one month of hire. CPCT certification may be required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• CNA, CPCT, or enrollment in a healthcare career program preferred.
• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire.
• PCT competency validation required within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily patient care including hygiene, mobility, feeding, and repositioning.
• Monitor patients and report changes to care team.
• Record vital signs and maintain EMR documentation.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Perform basic clinical tasks and advanced skills as trained (e.g., wound care, specimen collection).
• Support unit operations through clerical tasks and healthcare tech use.
• Follow safety, infection control, and patient care protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team and manage workload effectively.
