Job summary

University of Virginia Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support inpatient and outpatient care under supervision. The role includes assisting patients with personal care and performing basic nursing tasks as delegated by an RN, all while maintaining a safe care environment and handling administrative duties.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and VA CNA eligibility or approved alternative pathway.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• BLS Certification from American Heart Association is required.
• Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia or eligible via UVa PCT program OR other approved program.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care and administrative support under supervision of a Health Care Provider.
• Assists patients with personal care as needed for recovery.
• Maintains safe environment and delivery of care.
• Performs administrative support functions.
• Maintains necessary skills and competencies.
• Other duties may be assigned.
