Job summary

The University of Virginia Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide direct patient care and support in inpatient or outpatient settings under supervision. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• No experience required.
• BLS certification required (AHA Health Care Provider) or equivalent accepted for non-certified hires.
• One of the following Virginia credentials: CNA, EMT, Military Corpsman/Tactical Combat Care, LPN, graduate of certified nursing program, PCT certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and administrative support under supervision in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and provide updates to the health care team.
• Assist with activities of daily living and ensure safety and comfort.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked environment and follow care plans and hospital policies.
• Attend mandatory in-services and training.
• Demonstrate teamwork and patient safety practices.
