Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. You will assist with assessments, documentation, and care activities across a variety of patient populations, ensuring safety and comfort.

The role emphasizes teamwork, ongoing learning, and adherence to unit procedures. Experience in phlebotomy, EKG, and vital signs is preferred, with completion of a PCT/CNA/MA program or apprenticeship encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Completion of one of the following programs: CNA, Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician; or Nursing Fundamentals program; or HMH PCT Apprenticeship; or equivalent medical background.
• Ability to learn quickly, accountability, teamwork, and commitment to ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Document vital signs, specimens, and patient data for RN review.
• Assist with admissions, assessments, and procedures as directed by clinicians.
• Support patient safety and comfort, and participate in unit PI activities.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKGs as trained and directed.
