Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey seeks a Patient Care Technician to join our clinical team. Under RN supervision, you will deliver direct and indirect patient care to diverse populations, focusing on safety, comfort, and satisfaction.

The role includes assisting with assessments, obtaining vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and ensuring equipment readiness. Candidates may enter via the PCT Apprenticeship program with a clear path to a regular PCT role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CNA/MA/PCT program or equivalent.
• HMH PCT Apprenticeship program available.
• EMT/Home Health Aide/CMA experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-related criteria.
• Take vitals and document findings; notify RN of abnormalities.
• Perform venipuncture for lab tests and label specimens.
• Conduct EKGs as directed and maintain equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning, hygiene, and daily activities.
• Support interdisciplinary care planning from admission to discharge.
