Job summary

Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the patient care team with essential nursing assistance. Responsibilities include basic patient care, hydration, mobility, and collaborating with RNs to maintain quality care on the unit.

The role may include Health Unit Coordinator duties such as phones, orders, records, and supplies, with emphasis on safety and timely documentation. Utah CNA/BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of practice (Utah).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated basic computer literacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including toileting, bathing, linen and clothing changes, hydration, ambulation, comfort, and responsive service.
• Report patient care findings promptly and secure assistance as needed.
• Monitor patients and perform telemetry duties as required on the unit.
• Transport medications to the RN when on a clinical unit.
• Collaborate with the RN and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• May perform Health Unit Coordinator duties: answer phones, transcribe orders, manage unit records, stock supplies.
• Implement delegated plans of care and perform duties within scope of practice.
• Maintain a safe environment and respond to emergencies as required.
