Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician in Chicago to deliver direct patient care, monitor vitals, collect specimens, and perform phlebotomy under RN supervision. You will assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and post-operative care while maintaining a safe, clean environment and responding promptly to emergencies.

The role requires CNA certification or current nursing student status with clinical rotations, CPR (BLS), and strong adherence to health and safety

Qualifications

• CNA Certification or currently enrolled in School of Nursing who has completed basic clinical rotations.
• CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• Minimum 90% on annual Health and Safety Training quizzes.
• Unit based recognition for Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care Activities such as admissions, vitals, etc.
• Collects specimens and performs phlebotomy.
• Transports patients and equipment; observes patient needs and safety procedures.
• Responds to emergencies and assists with post-operative care and procedures.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and supports RN duties as assigned.
