Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support Registered Nurses in direct and indirect patient care within a hospital setting. You will perform phlebotomy, vital signs, newborn care, and assist with admissions, transfers and discharges as part of a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or enrollment in nursing education required.
• CPR recognition by AHA (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• High school diploma required; some college or nursing education preferred.
• Previous health care experience preferred with ability to relate to patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care as assigned under RN supervision.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges and routine assessments.
• Take vitals and record intake/output for adults and neonates.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic life support as needed.
• Assist with newborn care and basic pediatric/OB procedures.
