Job summary

The role requires a National Phlebotomist certification, CPR, a high school diploma, and clerical experience. Training in CPI is provided by Brattleboro Retreat, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months to one year patient contact experience.
• National Phlebotomist certification required.
• Training in CPI required, Brattleboro Retreat will Provide.
• Valid driver's license without violations.
• CPR certification required.
• One year phlebotomy experience, subject to Neurologist approval.
• Clerical experience preferred.
• Organized and flexible; ability to set priorities and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture of patients and staff for specimen collection.
• Performs electrocardiograms on patients with proper technique.
• Prepares lab specimens for transport to the lab in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate clinic records and filing systems.
• Transfers immunization records for infection control.
• Keeps employee health files and updates data in the computer.
• Sorts and routes lab and test results to the appropriate units.
• Schedules appointments for MD consultants and NP's; manages clinic flow.
• Transmits daily schedule and updates after clinic visits.
• Triages telephone calls and conveys unit needs to NP.
