Job summary

Ardent is seeking a Medical Surgical Orthopedic Patient Care Tech (PCT) for a day shift in Tulsa, OK. The role supports nursing staff with vitals, transport, hygiene care, and patient inquiries within the scope of practice.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and must obtain BLS within 14 days of hire; preferred experience includes acute or long-term care and CNA/PCT certification or enrollment in nursing school.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification to be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer and before providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, transporting patients, delivering hygiene care and answering inquiries within scope of practice.
• Assists nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, gives initial instruction; assists in transporting discharged patients and answers inquiries within the scope of practice.
• May act as the unit’s receptionist, assigns patient to room on board, alerts nursing staff to patient arrival, pulls and prepares chart; orders and monitors utilization of supplies and assists with stocking supplies.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assists in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answers inquiries within the scope of practice.
• Assists nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, gives initial instruction; assists in transporting discharged patients and answers inquiries within the scope of practice.
• May act as the unit’s receptionist, assigns patient to room on board, alerts nursing staff to patient arrival, pulls and prepares chart; orders and monitors utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and retrieval chart back; assists with stocking supplies that are needed in the unit as well as assist in keeping the nursing stations clean and organized.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
