Job summary

Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, OK is seeking an evening shift, full-time Med Surg Ortho Patient Care Tech (PCT). You will support patients with daily activities, monitor vitals, and assist nursing staff in a fast-paced orthopedic unit.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 14 days, and preferred CNA/PCT or paramedic certification or nursing school enrollment. Prior acute or long-term care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Preferred: CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification or nursing school enrollment.
• Two years of acute or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities (ADLs) under supervision.
• Record vital signs and observe patient progress for reports to RN.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Assist with specimen collection for lab tests and phlebotomy tasks.
• Support mobility and range-of-motion activities as directed.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

Responsibilities

• Work under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform duties.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
