Job summary

Virtua Health in Burlington Hospital seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support daily living activities under RN/LPN direction and to uphold high professional ethics while delivering compassionate care.

You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and hygiene; take vitals and perform related tasks, with phlebotomy/ECG if certified. Part-time, on-site, 2nd shift; hourly rate shown.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, mobility and transport.
• Performs vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identifies and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN; responds appropriately.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety issues.
• Participates in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
