Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN is hiring for a Night Shift, Full-time role in the Joints department. You will obtain vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and support patient comfort and mobility.

This role includes phlebotomy, monitoring intake and output, and providing direct patient care under supervision. A BLS Provider certification within 30 days is required; Nurse Aide is preferred, and education may be substituted by applicable experience.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
• Nurse Aide preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of applicable experience.
• Required licensure can be substituted for education or experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records vital signs and reports abnormal findings.
• Monitors and documents intake and output to support safe care.
• Performs blood draws following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
• Provides direct patient care, including rounds and ADLs to support comfort and mobility.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and promptly reporting abnormal findings.
• Monitors and documents fluid intake and output, supporting safe patient care and clinical decision-making.
• Performs blood draws as trained, following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
• Provides direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living to support comfort and mobility.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
