Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN seeks a full-time Day shift phlebotomy-oriented patient care teammate in Neurology. You will obtain vital signs, monitor intake/output, perform blood draws, and provide direct patient care including rounding and daily living assistance.

The role requires a current BLS certification within 30 days of hire; Nurse Aide is preferred. Education can be a high school diploma or equivalent, or one year of applicable experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum required: High School diploma or equivalent OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire; Nurse Aide preferred.

• Obtains and records vital signs and reports abnormal findings.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Obtains and records vital signs, accurately charting patient data and promptly reporting abnormal findings.
• Monitors and documents fluid intake and output, supporting safe patient care and clinical decision-making.
• Performs blood draws as trained, following proper phlebotomy techniques and safety protocols.
• Provides direct patient care, including rounding with patients and assisting with activities of daily living to support comfort and mobility.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
