Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care under RN supervision in a busy hospital setting. You will perform direct and indirect care, assist with assessments, help with activities of daily living, and participate in care planning to improve patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a CNA/MA/PCT certificate or are in the HMH PCT Apprenticeship track, with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Completion of one of the following programs: CNA, Medical Assistant, or PCT.
• Eligible for the HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program if not yet certified.
• Experience in healthcare settings, such as EMT or home health aide, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and activities based on patient age and needs.
• Document vital signs and notify RN of abnormal findings.
• Assist with admissions, examinations, and procedures.
• Support interdisciplinary care plans and patient safety initiatives.
• Ensure equipment readiness and safe patient transport as needed.
• Assist with activities of daily living and comfort measures.
• Participate in unit/department PI activities.
