Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech III to support nursing teams in the Emergency Department and related units. The role involves patient care, vital sign monitoring, specimen collection, and documentation under supervision. Cross-training in telemetry and unit secretary duties may apply.

You will work with nurses, physicians, and other clinical staff to ensure patient comfort, safety, and timely care while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support.
• 1 year acute care/hospital experience or 1 year EMT Paramedic experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under licensed clinician supervision.
• Takes and records vital signs and conducts basic nursing support.
• Assists with activities of daily living and patient mobility.
• Documents observations and communicates changes to the RN.
• Supports safety and de-escalation as needed.
