Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician III to join the Emergency Department/Various Units. You will work under licensed clinicians, providing essential patient care, monitoring, and support across high-acuity areas.

Responsibilities include vital signs, phlebotomy in certain locations, and assisting with treatments. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to RN regarding observations and changes in patients.
• Maintains patient safety and de-escalation as directed.
• Assists with daily living activities and mobility.
• Performs vital signs, EKGs, POC tests, and specimen collection as needed.
• Assist RN/LIP with treatments and setup of equipment and supplies.
• Observes and records intake, outputs, and tube feeding as directed.
• Answers calls and relays messages using department systems.
• Replenishes supplies and keeps unit organized.
• Demonstrates professional conduct and teamwork in daily duties.
