Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to provide designated direct and indirect patient care under licensed supervision on a rotating surgical unit in Center City.

The role supports patient care delivery, safety, and efficient unit operations while developing clinical competency and certifications. The PCT II will work with the interdisciplinary team to manage patient flow, assist with care coordination, and contribute to high-quality care for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Unit specific certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with the interprofessional team, patient, family, and care partners to support care delivery and patient flow.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care activities under licensed supervision, increasing competency.
• Expand range of patient care activities as trained and certified.
• Apply critical thinking to changes in patient condition and escalate as needed.
• Support safety by following protocols and mitigating risks in patient care.
• Coordinate care activities and patient throughput to improve unit operations.
• Maintain required certifications and competencies with ongoing skill development.
• Mentor newer team members in routine tasks without supervisory duties.
• Maintain supplies and readiness of the clinical environment.
