Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to join the acute care team at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Philadelphia.

The role provides advanced direct and indirect patient care under licensed supervision, mentors staff on safety, and supports the interprofessional team. A strong foundation in phlebotomy, IV insertion, EKG monitoring, and de-escalation techniques is expected, with opportunities for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• 2 years Nursing Assistant, PCT or healthcare experience required. Certification and completion of advanced skills and knowledge training within six months of hire accepted in lieu of experience.
• BLS (American Heart Association) required; CPCT certification required.
• ACLS and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed clinical team members.
• Act as resource/mentor for safe patient handling and de-escalation techniques.
• Support interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Promote a safe patient care environment and maintain supplies/equipment.
• Coach/train new staff on supplies and equipment use.
