Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care and assist with coordination of inpatient unit activities. The role supports RNs in caring for acutely ill patients, maintains medical asepsis, and documents care in the EMR.

The incumbent will work under RN supervision, handle time-sensitive assignments, and contribute to patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year in an acute or long‑term care facility or currently enrolled in an Associate's in Nursing program.
• Experience as a PCA/PCT/NA or related healthcare role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides, documents direct patient care including activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, I&O, and basic EKG testing.
• Maintains patient safety and environment; participates in hourly rounding and hygiene/protocols.
• Assists with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers under RN supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
