Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with unit coordination in a hospital setting. The role supports RN staff in caring for acutely ill patients and handling admissions, discharges, and transfers.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, at least 1 year in acute/long-term care or nursing program enrollment, and basic computer/EMR skills. CPR and background clearances may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year in acute or long-term care OR enrolled in nursing program.
• Basic computer skills with EMR/documentation ability.
• Experience as PCA/PCT/NA/LPN or related medical role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care including ADLs and vitals.
• Assist RN in caring for acutely ill patients and in charting.
• Support admissions, discharges and transfers on the unit.
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives and maintain a clean environment.
