Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester is seeking a Patient Care Technician II for the 6:45am–3:15pm day shift. Under licensed clinician supervision, you will provide patient care, monitor vital signs, perform EKGs and POC tests, and assist with daily living activities.

The role supports a 32-hour schedule and includes alternating weekends and holidays. Signing bonus may be available; compensation varies with scheduled hours, experience and internal equity.

Qualifications

• Under the direction of a licensed clinician, provides patient care to meet personal needs.
• Performs vital signs, EKGs, POC tests and specimen collection as part of routine care.
• Assists with daily living activities and maintains patient safety.
• Precepts new Patient Care Technicians and supports team functioning.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations and changes.
• Maintain safety by monitoring high-risk patients and following restraints policy when needed.
• Assist with hygiene, mobility, meals and nourishment; help with positioning and transport.
• Perform EKGs, POC tests, specimen labeling and transport to lab.
• Assist with treatments and equipment setup under supervision.
• Support patient comfort and provide compassionate, culturally appropriate care.
