Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to join the night shift team. This role supports licensed clinicians, provides direct patient care, and helps maintain a safe, efficient unit during the overnight hours.

Under supervision, you will perform vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and help with procedures while prioritizing patient comfort and safety. A signing bonus may be available during the interview process.

Qualifications

• Under the direction of the appropriate licensed clinician, and in keeping with unit specific standards, provides patient care to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients.
• Assists members of the healthcare team and helps ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Demonstrates sensitivity and responsiveness to patients' needs and communicates with patients, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning and transporting patients using proper body mechanics.
• Takes and records vital signs and basic measurements as directed.
• Performs selected unit procedures and supports treatments and procedures as assigned.
