Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a dedicated CNA to join our team in Illinois. You will support patient care by performing routine tasks, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring safety in the clinical setting.

The role requires completion of an accredited CNA program and BLS certification, with eligibility for state CNA registry listing. You will collaborate with RNs, nursing managers, and NM Academy to meet learning needs and participate in quality improvement initiatives while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of accredited CNA program and listed on the state IL CNA Registry OR Nursing student who has completed one clinical rotation with verification.
• BLS through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Collects, labels and transports specimens as assigned.
• Obtains 12 lead EKGs and attends to patient care tasks as specified in the plan of care.
• Discontinues Saline Locks, Urinary Catheters, and Telemetry Monitoring packs per protocol.
• Performs hourly patient rounding in collaboration with the RN and documents data accordingly.
• Assists with patient ambulation, positioning and activities of daily living as directed.
• Responds to patient call lights promptly and maintains a safe, clean care environment.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and required training.
• Under supervision, facilitates admissions and EMR downtime readiness as needed.
